What and who is most important to you during this holiday season? Plan accordingly even if it means saying No to some things.
What are you feeling? Don’t smother it. Talk or journal instead. Don’t try to eat or drink your feelings away because you feel you need to be “up” all the time. Schedule time with your real self.
Quit comparing your reality with others – especially on social media. You don’t know the truth behind those “perfect poses. Instead – make a gratitude list.
Move. Around the block or just to the corner. Get some “outside air.”
Five minutes of controlled deep breathing to relax before sleep.
Five minutes of exercise in the morning – leg lifts and rotations, arm raising and rotating while holding weights. These and other exercises can be done while in bed. Believe me when I say I know. 😍🛌
Remember – it’s true we can’t choose our family only our friends. But what’s also true is we can choose how much exposure we have to them. Covid can be a good reason or a convenient excuse if you need one.
Get a Special Gift for Yourself! Don’t let your sense of worth depend on what other people give you or say to you. I treat myself every birthday and Christmas so everything else just adds to my joy and there are no disappointments.
Be kind. To yourself, your co-workers, postal workers, retail employees, and your family (even if at a distance). Just a few words of thanks and a smile or a compassionate enquiry into their fatigue can make someone’s day, maybe even their whole Christmas/Holiday Season. And it will make you feel good, too. Again, I’ve tried it and it does!🎈😊
